Polarization Independent (SM) Fiber Circulator
This is the default circulator configuration with the 1 - 2 path the HP leg. This is typically used when you have a high input power and a low return signal.

Polarization Dependent (PM) Fiber Circulator
Polarization dependent circulator using PM fiber on all ports. High power on both legs (1 - 2 and 2 - 3). When connectorized the slow axis of the PM fiber is aligned to the connector key.
