and RoHS

The European Union restriction of hazardous substances directives including RoHS, WEEE and Directive 2002/95/EC become effective July 1, 2006. While these directives do not directly apply to OFR or the manufacture of optics, we recognize our responsibility to the environment and as a supplier of components used within space industry, electronic based systems and products targeted for compliance to these directives.

OFR appreciates your business and is committed to offering internationally accepted, high quality, optical components. We are in the process of verifying the compliance of all our products. We intend to achieve this by a combination of supply certification and engineering design. Where necessary we will review our designs to incorporate compliant materials and manufacturing processes in order produce components for worldwide research and applications.

OFR is continually improving our manufacturing processes and dedicated to protecting the environment. OFR anticipates all products to be compliant by June 2006. All OFR products which have not been determined to be RoHS compliant shall be clearly labeled “non-compliant to RoHS” effective June 2006.

We recognize that during this process our customers may have specific questions regarding individual OFR components and products. We will be happy to process all such requests and provide individual product information as quickly as possible. Please direct any such requests to OFR QC DESK, QC@ofr.com or call: 973-579-7227.
